1. Improv Comedy Workshop – July 21

It’s not too late to give up your dream of being on SNL. Start your journey this summer with an introductory course to the art of improv comedy. It’s taught by the U’s Continuing Education program so anyone can sign up.

2. Big Wild Wings at Utah Natural History Museum – July 22

Everyone knows that Red Butte gardens puts on some awesome concerts. Now, their neighbors to the south, the Utah Natural History Museum is getting in on the action. On Wednesday they welcome the band Big Wild Wings, described as a “band plays alternative/indie music-meshing an ‘80s quality synth, pop sound with a ‘90s empowered tone, and lyrics to create a downplayed kind of electro-rock.”

3. King Court Killer, An Overnight Murder Mystery

Do you like murder-mysteries? How about role-playing? Well this week you have the chance to combine the two when Castle Creek Inn (Cottonwood Heights) hosts King Court Killer.

4. Twilight Concert Series – July 23

This week’s installment of the Twilight Concert Series at Pioneer Park includes the Black Rebel Motorcycle Club as well as Father John Misty, a folk singer-songwriter.

5. Days of ’47 Parade – July 24

Friday is Pioneer Day, which commemorates the day Mormon pioneers first entered the Salt Lake Valley. The most popular event, the Days of ’47 Parade starts at 9 in the morning, but you’ll want to get there earlier if you want a good view.

6. Pie and Beer Day – July 24th

If Pioneer Day is too Mormon-y for you, then 90.9 KRCL has an alternative: Pie and Beer Day. Head over to Beer Bar in Salt Lake City for craft beer and lots of pie.
