THE GREAT DEBATE: LeBron vs. Carmelo

It's almost a shame that some people would even consider taking any other player besides LeBron James with the No. 1 pick, but for those who would, I have four simple words for you. You are all idiots. Are you kidding me? The top three picks will most definitely consist of James, Darko Milicic and Carmelo Anthony, but James is the clear-cut number one, and will have the best career out of the three.

And speaking of uniforms, ain't those some snazzy new unis? A vast improvement over those new-age, sci-fi-nightmare-looking outfits of the past decade.

Johnsen’s Pro Draft Stock Sinks After Disappointing Senior Year

During an outstanding freshman season, U basketball player Britton Johnsen seemed destined to be selected in the NBA Draft after finishing his career at the U. Yet an unexpected turn has now placed Johnsen in a position where he may not even be drafted. Coming out of Murray High School, Johnsen was a McDonald's All-American and he made an immediate impact for the Utes.

Ute Women to Represent Canada

The two driving forces behind the runaway success of last year's U women's basketball team will get the chance to show off their skills at the Pan American Games this August. Sophomore Kim Smith and second-year junior Shona Thorburn were selected this week to represent their home country of Canada as part of the Senior Women's National Team.

It was a very important topic of discussion, according to Charles Milne, interim adviser of the LGBT center. Milne was talking about the panel which met in the OSH building on June 25 to discuss minorities and the Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender community.

Utah Students Learn Science Through U

More than 30 minority high school students from across the state turned into scientists over the last week at the U. They built robots, worked in mock crime labs and, most importantly, talked about college. It was all part of two programs called "Hi-Tech" and "Hi-Gear," sponsored by the College of Engineering, Intel Corporation and the Michael Company.
