Arabian Museum Destroyed by Fire

RIYADH, Saudi Arabia?A huge fire in the kingdom's largest private museum has destroyed many pieces of art, police said Tauesday. The fire on Monday gutted two of the three buildings housing the Abdul Rauf Hasan Khalil Museum in the Red Sea city of Jiddah, police said, adding that they were investigating the cause.

Police Continue Search For Kidnapping Victim

SALT LAKE CITY?Police say they are refocusing their investigation into the kidnapping of a 14-year-old girl, taking a closer look at those who knew Elizabeth Smart, while not ruling out a stranger abduction. BEHESHT-E-ZAHRA, Iran?Iran's supreme leader accused the United States on Tuesday of "massacring" innocent Afghans during its war on terrorism, and said Iran was ready to fight if attacked. Addressing thousands of people on the 13th anniversary of the death of Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, the father of Iran's 1979 Islamic revolution, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said the United States launched the war in Afghanistan to get rid of al Qaeda, but instead massacred civilians.

Tyco CEO Charged With Tax Evasion

NEW YORK?Dennis Kozlowski, the dealmaking titan who built Tyco International into a huge conglomerate, was charged Tuesday with illegally avoiding more than $1 million in sales taxes on paintings, including works by Renoir and Monet. Kozlowski, who resigned as chairman and chief executive Monday amid news of the investigation, pleaded innocent Tuesday and was released on $3 million bail.
