As the media-feeding frenzy regarding sex abuse in the Catholic Church intensifies, Americans of all faiths and religious persuasions have begun asking serious questions about sexuality. Speculation about the psychological stability of both heterosexuals and homosexuals, the origins of sexual deviance and the viability of celibacy have splattered the front pages of leading newspapers all over the country.

Rabbi Says Judaism Can Help Society

Boteach, who was the rabbi of Oxford College for 11 years and is now a prominent author and radio talk show host, will kick off his book tour today with a speech in the Utah Museum of Fine Arts' Dumke Auditorium at 11 a.

Utes Lose to SUU in Extra Innings, 5-4

The U softball team's streak was halted Wednesday afternoon in Cedar City as the U "gave away" a 5-4 decision in extra innings to Southern Utah, U coach Mona Stevens said. The loss snapped Utah's seven-game winning streak as the Utes head into a big battle this weekend with in-state nemesis and Mountain West Conference foe BYU.

There are 59 committees on the U campus and 30 that students hold positions on. These statistics appear relatively benign, until one realizes the impact that students can make when evaluating campus policies and issues. For instance, students on these committees have been the leaders in instituting the U's reading day and providing evaluations online?two very significant services that serve students on a direct and tangible level.

Even After Season, Ute Gymnasts Still Winning

The 2002 postseason ended last week for the U gymnastics squad with a fourth-place finish at the NCAA Championships in Tuscaloosa, Ala. However, that hasn't stopped select gymnasts from receiving a number of non-gymnastics accolades. Ute senior Shannon Bowles, the 2002 North Central Regional Gymnast of the Year and nine-time All-American for the Red Rocks, received the U's Bud Jack Award at a banquet honoring senior Ute athletes.
