LDS Church Made Right Moves During Olympics

The "Molympics" are over. The "Green Jello" and "Missionaries on Bikes" pins are sold. The anti-Mormon literature has been swept up and put in the trash. Even the LDS Church-owned medals plaza with its controversial view of the Salt Lake Temple in the background is getting taken apart and hauled away.

Baseball off to Good Start in Young Season

The pieces have started to fall into place as the U baseball team played the month of February by winning three of the four series that the Utes competed in. The Utes took two out of three games from Pacific, Mesa State and Southern Utah. Arizona was the lone team that defeated the Utes in two out of three games.

Letter to the Editor: Concealed Weapons Save Lives

Editor: I caught the Jan. 28 opinion column, "U Has No Legal Leg to Stand on in Gun Debates," by Nathan Croxford. I have some interesting input to add. In all my years I have always found that the more you pay people to think, the less they seem to actually do it.

And now a quick sequence of places I've lived during my almost-21-year lifetime: I was born in Los Angeles. A smart baby, some would argue. After a month, I didn't enjoy living in such a tight, busy, over-populated city, so I was able to convince my parents to move out East, where the grass is green and where I could watch the sunrise over the ocean.

Editor: Bravo!!! This American thanks you for making her so proud. In my 61 years as an Olympics junkie, I can honestly say these were the best. Back in the day, I visited Utah often as a skier. When my friends and I visited, we always chose to stay in Salt Lake City and do day trips to the different resorts.

Ogden City Sued for Banned Protest

OGDEN?A property owner who was forced to remove signs critical of Ogden from his vacant building just hours before the Olympic torch arrived has filed suit against the mayor and city. Ogden filed misdemeanor charges and a civil suit against Bruce Edwards, whose signs proclaimed "Ogden City Is Not Safe,'' "RAPE'' and other anti city messages.

Man Convicted of Sept. 11 ID Fraud

NEWARK, N.J.?A man has been arrested and charged with helping a Sept. 11 hijacker obtain false driver's licenses and identification cards, federal authorities said Wednesday. The FBI charged Abdel Rahman Omar Tawfiq Alfauru with producing fake identification.
