Letter to the Editor: Guns Are Just Something to Argue About

Editor: I have not followed too closely the policy changes that have taken place recently concerning firearms. I would like to know what the exact current ordinance is and what it was changed from. I know that concealed weapons are now not permitted on campus and that by now people think that there will be no more gun violence on campus.

In that respect, the Interfraternity Council is handling the situation well. In the shadow of recent agreements with neighbors, repairing a damaged image may be a matter of survival.

When I made the decision to go back to school and finish my bachelor's degree, the thought never occurred to me to move home. It was something I hadn't considered?wouldn't ever consider! Why would I? I'm 26. I'm self reliant and independent. Why would I ever move back home again? I'm too old to live at home! But the sad fact was that no matter how I figured it, I couldn't afford to live on my own and work part time.

U.S. Attacks Compound In South Afghanistan

KABUL, Afghanistan?U.S. special forces attacked an enemy compound in southern Afghanistan on Thursday, capturing or killing a number of Taliban and al Qaeda fighters, U.S. officials said. One American was wounded in the ankle. Elsewhere in Afghanistan, threats of clashes between rival warlords menaced the fragile peace, and a local governor accused Iran of sending vehicles and weapons into the country to undermine the new interim government of Hamid Karzai.

LAUSANNE, Switzerland?A U.S. animal rights campaigner detained at the headquarters of the International Olympic Committee while dressed as a cow was charged with violating a city ordinance on public order. Sean Gifford, a member of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, was detained Wednesday and released.
