Ambassador Discusses Mid East Events

In order to prevent terrorism, the United States cannot allow a climate that justifies terror to exist in the world, according to U.S. Ambassador Dennis Ross, who spoke at the U Monday. "That's a theme that needs to be repeated on a daily basis," Ross said, discussing discrediting terror.

Media Tours Olympic Village at U

On Monday, the U held a media tour of the Olympic Village and the clinic before SLOC takes it over. The tour highlighted the Polyclinic, located in the Guest House. To make sure athletes' injuries and illnesses do not put a damper on the spirit of the Olympic Games next month, the Salt Lake Organizing Committee, along with the U, has created a Polyclinic like no other.

U Hospital Passes the Test

University Hospital has just received its report card, and Executive Director Rick Fullmer is beaming with pride. The hospital earned a 91, the best preliminary score it has ever received, beating the national average of 88 and its previous score, which was also 88.

Fired Parking Employee Gets Her Job Back

Elisabeth Wilkinson went back to her job Monday. After firing her for talking to the media, parking officials rehired her as an appeals officer. She was fired in early December following a dispute with the son of prominent U donors. She said she was fired for reporting the event to The Chronicle.
