Thanksgiving Meal at Institute Tonight

James Alic Garang already considers himself a part of the American culture, though he has lived in Salt Lake City for less than six months. This Sudanese native enrolled at Salt Lake Community College only a few weeks after arriving in Utah in June. He now studies economics and plans to attend the University of Utah within the next year to study law.

Senior offensive lineman Doug Kaufusi has been suspended from the Utah football team's Dec. 1 regular season finale at Air Force after coach Ron McBride learned that he has two warrants for his arrest stemming from a Jan. 27 altercation. Kaufusi's first warrant involves a Class A misdemeanor?one step below a felony?for assault, issued on March 7.

Women’s Basketball Destroys Albertson

The Utah women's basketball team opened its home slate in impressive fashion Tuesday night, cruising to a 32-point halftime lead over Albertson College of Idaho before dismantling the Coyotes by a final score of 93-45. The win boosted the Utes to 2-1 overall, while Albertson fell to 2-2 on the year.

U Men’s Basketball Gets By Boise State

Boise State's quickness kept the Broncos in the game for 30 minutes, but Utah's size prevailed in a 64-49 win Tuesday night. The Bronco guards battled injury, but still caused 12 Utah turnovers. Joe Skiffer (shoulder) and Bryan DeFares (hamstring) were not 100 percent, and BSU was without starting point guard C.

A Vegetarian-Friendly Thanksgiving

If you are vegetarian or vegan, you've probably experienced what I go through each year. First, someone asks how you can possibly have Thanksgiving without turkey. I mean, it's an understandable question considering that the dinner of yams, mashed potatoes, salad, cranberries, beans, stuffing, cut-up vegetables, rolls and pumpkin pie couldn't possibly be enough to fill a person without the turkey.
