U Unimpressive in Win Over Colorado State

Although the Utah men's basketball team hit only three of its final 12 free throws, the Utes (16-3, 6-0 Mountian West Conference) preserved their 48th straight home conference victory with a 67-62 win over Colorado State (9-11, 1-5 MWC) Saturday night. No. 1 Utah Gymnasts Fall at LSU

The return to No. 10 Louisiana State was supposed to mark the triumphant return by junior all everything Theresa Kulikowski. When the Utes visited Baton Rouge during the 2000 season, the 1999 NCAA all-around champion tore her ACL on vault. She received a medical hardship to retain her sophomore year, but Kulio hasn't vaulted since the incident.

U Women End Losing Streak

After losing three straight and six of its last eight, the U women's basketball team was in desperate need of someone to beat up on. It didn't matter if it was Sister Mary's of the Poor?the Utes just needed someone to take their frustrations out on. Nice to see you, San Diego State.

What are normally areas of study for students and meetings for administrators will transform into party central for many international delegations. Athletes and officials from such countries as Germany, Canada and Sweden will take over U buildings during the Olympic break.

Chrony Won’t Stop Web Site During Games

While the Olympics will preempt classes and the U will take an extended break, The Chronicle will continue to function. During the Olympic Break, The Chronicle will not produce a print newspaper, but will update its Web site. This site will feature articles about how the Games are affecting campus, updates on U sports teams, letters to the editor and satire articles under the title, The Comical.

Old Dorms, New Community

Students say they feel a great sense of community in the old residential halls that couldn't be found in the plush rooms and facilities of Heritage Commons. Residential students had to move to the old dorms in January, to give Olympic crews time to transform the dormitories into the athlete's village in time for the Games.

Olympics Draws Demonstrations to Campus

The Olympic Games are both target and backdrop for protesters this February. On the U campus, activists' plans peak just as the Games commence. For several days prior to Feb. 8, Orson Spencer Hall will host the Global Justice Conference, which culminates on the day of the Opening Ceremony with a march against poverty.
