By By Rochelle McConkie February 11, 2008
Students have the power to help determine the life or death of the U's student-run radio station KUTE, which has been on a downhill turn since ASUU pulled its funding last year. The Student Broadcast Council is forming a student committee to create a new vision for the future of KUTE, which will include plans to change the station to meet demands and trends in new media.

By By Andrew Cone February 11, 2008
Photojournalists and directors Molly Bingham and Steve Connors spent 10 months in the Baghdad neighborhood of Adhamiya, shortly after the fall of the city, interviewing Iraqi insurgents in an attempt to find out why some of them wanted to kill Americans. What they found was that Iraqis involved in fighting coalition forces were merely doing what any patriotic American would do: defending their homeland, even if that meant killing people from the United States.

Illnesses don’t prevent Red Rocks from rolling over BYU

By By Jon Gilbert February 10, 2008
PROVO -- Sometimes a win can leave the victor a bit unsatisfied. On Friday night, that was the case for the U gymnastics team. Utah defeated BYU 196.700-193.925 at the Marriott Center in Provo to improve to 5-0 on the season. Despite beating its archrival and posting a solid score, Utah knows that a performance riddled with minor mistakes need evaluating before the team takes to the mats again.

After fighting a case of the stomach flu this week, Postell sat out of the all-around competition for the first time this season as the Red Rocks took on archrival BYU.

Women’s Hoops: Utes host Air Force on Saturday

By By Natalie Dicou February 9, 2008
When Morgan Warburton proclaimed a few weeks ago that the U women's basketball team's goal was to go undefeated in MWC play, she might have seemed a bit optimistic -- maybe a little too optimistic. After all, it's not easy to win 16 games in a row, especially when that would mean beating nationally ranked Wyoming not once, but twice.

Students upset by Romney’s withdrawal

By By Rochelle McConkie February 8, 2008
Mitt Romney's departure from the presidential race on Thursday left many Utahns feeling disappointed and surprised, but U students and faculty said the candidate made the right decision. "I still feel he's the best person to be the president of the United States, but Super Tuesday didn't go as well as hoped," said Kirk Jowers, director of the Hinckley Institute of Politics and Romney supporter.
