Junior quarterback Terrance Cain didn't have awful numbers in the first half of Saturday's Blackout game against Wyoming.

The air was chilly during the first half of Utah's matchup against Wyoming as fans settled in the back of their chairs on Halloween, witnessing two quarters of Utah offensive errors countered by efficient plays from a Wyoming quarterback who wouldn't quit.

On Halloween night the Utah Utes dressed up in their black uniforms, but not to go trick-or-treating. Instead, the Utes hosted in conference rival Wyoming on All Hallows Eve and almost got the scare of the season after trailing going into the fourth quarter Saturday night.

Off to yet another slow start, Utah is down at halftime 10-3 against a seemingly more prepared Wyoming.

Fresh off a bye week, the Wyoming Cowboys have had an extra week to prepare, rest and get ready for the Utes on Saturday at Rice-Eccles Stadium. Now they're eager to get back on the football field.

Even though the concept is no longer new and Utah fans won't be treated to a matchup of two top-ranked teams, fans are still looking forward to the Blackout game.

Since former Wyoming head coach Joe Glenn made his infamous guarantee to beat the Utes in Rice-Eccles Stadium back in 2007, this Mountain West Conference series has not been a series at all. In fact, it hasn't even been close. After guaranteeing victory, the Cowboys didn't just lose8212;they got pummeled by the Utes, 50-0.

Head coach Kyle Whittingham said last week's game against Air Force prepared the Utes a little more to face a tough Wyoming defense, but said the focus has to be improving their own possessions.
