Football team’s win to bust the BCS was biggest Utah win ever

It was the most important win in school history. It put the Utes on the map and it proved to BYU and, most importantly, college football, that the Utes were kings of the Utah football hill.

Volleyball team loaded with power

Most volleyball teams consider themselves lucky if they have one or two go-to power hitters. For head coach Beth Launiere and the Utah women's volleyball team, they have six. After opening the season at the Ute invitational last weekend with games against Utah Valley University and Santa Clara, Utah has a team kill percentage of .281.

The Utah women's volleyball team started its season off perfectly, going 2-0 at the Ute Invitational this past weekend.

The Utes were forced to pull off a "great escape" fending off a furious Michigan fourth quarter rally and broke out of Ann Arbor with a 25-23 win, leaving the Wolverines stunned for a second-straight, season-opening defeat.
