In the first meet of the season for the Utah cross-country team the Utes finished third in the overall team standings.

The Utah women's volleyball team started its season off perfectly, going 2-0 at the Ute Invitational this past weekend.

The oft-injured quarterback, the All-American and the guy who previously played one quarter for the U football program led the Utes past mighty Michigan.

The Utes were forced to pull off a "great escape" fending off a furious Michigan fourth quarter rally and broke out of Ann Arbor with a 25-23 win, leaving the Wolverines stunned for a second-straight, season-opening defeat.
