Traffic light construction begins on Central Campus Drive

Students leaving campus on Central Campus Drive will soon escape more efficiently.

On April 1, Sorensen Construction, Inc. started installing traffic signals at the intersection of North Campus Drive and Central Campus Drive.

The intersection demands a five- to eight-minute waiting period when classes break on the hour. Construction on the light is expected to last until May 8, and will be limited to 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays. Sorensen Construction, Inc. advises drivers to expect slight delays due to shoulder work and intermittent lane closures.

Although traffic-control devices and flaggers will be used to move traffic during construction, motorists are advised to use alternate routes to avoid congestion.
