Black Pumpkin Affair tonight

By Jamie Bowen, Staff Writer

Instead of just dressing up for Halloween or watching scary movies, Crimson Nights invites you to a spooky evening filled with pumpkin carving, magicians and a spook alley.

The Union Programming Council’s Crimson Nights event is joining forces with the Associated Students of the University of Utah Community Service Board to host the annual Black Pumpkin Affair tonight at 9 p.m.

“The entrance fee is either two cans of food or $5,” said Ashley Swapp, director of Crimson Nights. “All proceeds will go to the Utah Food Bank and count toward Rivalry Week against BYU.”

Every year, the U Student Alumni Board heads the Rivalry Week food drive, which is a competition against BYU lasting until the Nov. 22 football game.

Swapp said besides the Halloween-themed activities, students can also enjoy an oxygen bar, hypnotist, palm and tarot card readers.

Students are encouraged to come dressed in costumes.
