Police Briefs

By Michael McFall, Staff Writer

Paint-Faced robber

A woman disguised in fanciful makeup held up the Subway sandwich shop a block west of the U. At 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, a college-age woman walked into Subway wearing a black hoodie and black gloves. Her face was painted red, with black on her eyes and lips and a white cross painted on each cheek, according to a police report.

She demanded the money in the till and threatened the employee behind the counter with a knife. She was also waving a dollar bill with the words “give me the money” scrawled on it.

After she got the store’s money, she left the dollar bill behind and ran out the door to a small four-door car waiting for her in the parking lot. It was last seen speeding northbound on 1300 East.

Salt Lake Police have a few suspects. “(It’s) all a matter of catching them,” said Detective Thomas Flores.

Obscene text

A woman returned to her car to find it keyed with an obscenity. She had parked her Dodge Durango in the south business parking lot at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, and upon returning an hour and a half later, she found the word “dick” keyed into the driver’s side door, according to a police report. Police have no suspects.

A more obscene text

A student received an obscene text message embedded with live video during his class Tuesday evening. The video showed a naked female engaging in sexual activity. Police have a source pinned with the message, but would not disclose who sent it, said Capt. Lynn Mitchell.

The student received a similar video message a few months ago, but didn’t report it to campus police until Tuesday.
