The Pulse

By Trevor Hale, Red Pulse Editor

Music is an integral part of everyone’s life. At least it should be. If it isn’t and you actually dislike music and don’t find it to be a necessary part of daily life, I truly feel bad for you. Music can do wonderful things, evoke wonderful emotions and feelings, and spark endless amounts of discussions. You can spend the entire day arguing with your friends about who’s better8212;Ice T or Ice Cube8212;kill hours on road trips debating the finer points of Soundgarden and wondering what the hell happened to Chris Cornell. But maybe that’s just me.

What I do know is that there are literally thousands of people on this campus who feel that way about one aspect of music or another. Beyond that, there have to be hundreds of students involved in some kind of musical project, and each and every one of them deserves to be heard. If you have a band, if you play solo shows in coffee shops, if you have a folk duo or a pop group, get in touch with us. We’d love to hear about what you’re doing, where you’re playing and why you’re not famous yet. Drop us a line with a link to your Web site or better yet, stop by the office and give us a copy. I know there’s more music on this campus than it seems, and I want to know what it is. Let us hear it.
