UTA to add more trains for Wyoming game

By Ryan Howell, Staff Writer

Expecting large crowds for the blackout game Saturday against Wyoming, the Utah Transit Authority is adding additional TRAX trains to accommodate the masses.

UTA is encouraging fans to take public transportation to the game to avoid parking and traffic congestion.

Three extra trains will be leaving the Sandy Civic Center Station at 4:34 p.m., 4:49 p.m. and 5:04 p.m. in addition to the regularly scheduled Saturday trains that leave every 15 minutes. The extra trains will go to all stops on the University line, while all normal Sandy trains will require a transfer at the Gallivan Plaza Station and then will depart to Rice-Eccles Stadium.

People are encouraged to buy round-trip TRAX tickets so there won’t be line congestion after the game. FrontRunner round-trip tickets are also acceptable as TRAX transfers. FrontRunner leaves once per hour on Saturdays.
