Leonardo DiCaprio’s Oscar Win Proves Anyone Can Fulfill Their Dreams

Leonardo DiCaprios Oscar Win Proves Anyone Can Fulfill Their Dreams

Written by Peyton Dalley

You know that feeling when you jump into a warm bed after a long day? Or when it’s Girl Scout Cookie season? That feeling of satisfaction, like, “I did it — I made it this far”? Welcome to Leonardo DiCaprio’s first Oscar win.

While a lot of us Academy watchers are scratching our heads, wondering, “Why this performance?” an Oscar is an Oscar. Although DiCaprio is paid quite a pretty pension already, his stock just rose even further.

If DiCaprio winning an Oscar doesn’t say “don’t give up” or “follow your dreams,” I don’t know what does. I mean, the guy has been making movies for over 25 years. Of those, he should have won an Oscar for at least three movies he has done in the past, “What’s Eating Gilbert Grape,” “Titanic,” and “Wolf of Wall Street.”

It just goes to show that patience is a virtue. Regardless of whether you are a fan or not, you have to admit the man is keen when it comes to racking up blockbuster movies. He’s an all-around legend who’s put in his time and then some.

What would have been even better is if actress Kate Winslet also won an Oscar that night and the world could have had a “Titanic” moment, but at least someone’s dreams came true.

Never give up. Your Oscar is out there. It just may take a few years. Until then, congrats to DiCaprio. You deserved it, man.
