Get Creative at The Color Run

The single largest (and arguably most fun) running series in the world, founded right here in Salt Lake City, is back for its annual tour.  It’s an experience that nearly six million people in over 35 different countries across the globe have participated in. That’s right folks, the Color Run is back and ready to paint its home.

For those who aren’t aware, the Color Run is a 5k race where participants end up “painted” because people on the sidelines throw colorful powder at the runners passing by. It’s an event that strives to make exercise fun and entertaining, rather than tedious and boring. Sponsored by Lay’s, the Color Run is also known as the “Happiest 5k on the Planet,” as the race breeds and celebrates healthiness, happiness and individuality, as stated on the event’s website.

This year’s tour is entitled “The Color Run Dream Tour” and offers brand new surprises for participants. With the addition of a brand new Foam Zone, Dream Wall, new Purple Color Zone and most enticing of all, giant unicorns, this is an event not to be missed by anyone.

For those less inclined to exercise, fear not, the Color Run is not strictly for athletes. In fact, the event’s website encourages everyone to walk or run at their own pace. Children are encouraged to be brought as well, as long as they can get through the three-mile color course. For safety regulations, pets are not allowed at the event.

The Color Run will be held at the Utah State Fairpark on Oct. 14, 2017. The starting line window will open at 9 a.m. Once registered, participants can pick up their kits early at the Check-In party at the Sierra Trading Post on Friday, Oct. 13 at 11:00 a.m.
