Letter to the Editor: What About Property Rights?

By and April 20, 2003
Editor: If it were up to Jared Johnson ("Free Speech Needed Everywhere", April 17), neither The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints nor any public citizens would enjoy any private property rights. Coach Urban Meyer's frenetic pace in practice seems to have already reaped a reward, though at the same time it complicates his decision for the most important position in the U football team's new offense. The American media has been biased and untruthful in its coverage of the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq, according to U English professor Tom Huckin. "In my view, the media has been acting as the government's cheerleader more than its watchdog in the last few months...there's been massive disinformation coming from the top throughout and the media has done nothing to correct these lies," he said.

I Am Not From Around Here: If You Think I’m An ‘L-word,’ You Can ‘F-word’ Off

By , , , and April 20, 2003
Karl Marx, author of the Communist Manifesto, uttered, "I am not a Communist" in response to bad movements that adopted the name. Less articulate detractors brand me as a liberal in response to my diatribes against dropping bombs as a form of diplomacy.

Chronicle Sports Editor Rory Brunner powers past Peter Campbell, who may or may not be a member of ASUU, to shoot a lay up during the annual ASUU vs. Chrony basketball game in the Huntsman Center Thursday. The game, which ASUU somehow managed to win, was marred by questionable calls, megaphones and profanity.
