JERUSALEM?Ending a 10-day Mideast peace mission with little to show, Secretary of State Colin Powell said Wednesday that Israel had promised to withdraw troops from the West Bank within a week. He bluntly admonished Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat that he had to do more to fight terrorism.

On most college campuses, Fibromyalgia might affect about 1 percent of the population because it is comprised of a younger demographic, according to Allyson Davis, spokeswoman for the Arthritis Foundation, Utah/Idaho chapter.

Food-Stamps Can’t Threaten Aliens

SALT LAKE CITY?The Utah Department of Workforce Services has told its food-stamp program managers they cannot threaten to report undocumented immigrants to the immigration service when they apply for aid for their U.S.-born children. The department specifically ordered its Magna office to remove a sign making such a threat.

8 Teachers Honored for Committment to Their Students

Teachers were flattered, overwhelmed and emotional as they accepted this year's Student Choice Awards. The ceremony, held Tuesday in the Rosenblatt House, featured praise from students for teachers they nominated last month with a 500-word essay. This year the Academic Affairs Board of the Associated Students of the University of Utah received 40 nominations from students hoping to honor their teachers.

Police Arrest Suspect in Tunisia Explosion

BERLIN?German police have arrested a person they suspect of acting as a contact in the explosion of a truck at a synagogue in Tunisia that killed 15 people, including 10 German tourists, federal prosecutors said Tuesday. Two Arab newspapers reported that a group with the same name as one linked to Osama bin Laden's terror network has claimed responsibility for the blast.

Editor: I am writing in response to the recent incident involving Amadou Niang and his comments regarding racism within The Church of Jesus Christ of Later-day Saints. I would first like to state that it is inappropriate to verbally attack anyone for an association with any particular group, nor is it fair to single anyone out for an action undertaken by the group as a whole.

Students Threatens to Burn Flag for Class Discussion

"Today, we are going to burn a flag in class," said Michael Martin at the beginning of David Vergobbi's Freedom of Expression class on Tuesday. In front of a class of 30, Martin stood behind a propane burner, a dozen U.S. flags, a fire extinguisher and a metal garbage can placed on a table.
