Payday lenders prey on the poor

The Salt Lake City Council is considering a regulation on the payday lending industry that would affect the spatial distribution of predatory lending institutions in Salt Lake City. Following the lead of many cities across the United States, Salt Lake City wishes to minimize this insidious industry within its city boundaries.
