Give veterans public forum

By By Andrew Cengiz May 28, 2008
Veterans are among our most important and, sometimes, most ignored citizens. The public's lack of attention to their views is condemnable. We need to empower our veterans and current troops by involving more of their words in our national dialogue. If you open any newspaper or turn on the TV, you will get third-party accounts of who the troops are, what they did, how they did it, and what it means to the troops.

The only explanation given was that it had come to the dean's attention that I had "contributed consistently" to creating an atmosphere in the Middle East Center that lacked "collegiality" and could "no longer be tolerated.

By By Christopher Kamrani May 28, 2008
The Romans are remembered as one of the fiercest military civilizations in all of antiquity. The U football team's returning talent gives the Utes a shot at being the most dangerous non-BCS team in the national picture this year, but they'll be in for an all-out war.

Unexpected tourney run falls short

By By Christopher Kamrani May 28, 2008
After losing two of three games to rival Brigham Young University in the season's final regular season series, the U baseball team came out and responded, and then some, in the Mountain West Conference tournament. The Utes rattled off a 9-3 victory over the Cougars in the first round, defeated arguably the best pitcher in the MWC in San Diego State fireballer Stephen Strasburg, then turned out to be one of the biggest surprises in Fort Worth, Texas.
