Red Rocks score high marks in classroom

For decades, the U gymnastics team has continued to excel in the gym. On Monday, the Red Rocks continued to prove their success in the classroom as well. Seven U gymnasts were named National Association of College Gymnastic Coaches' All-Americans, including seniors Ashley Postell and Katie Kivisto, junior Kristina Baskett, sophomores Daria Bijak, Jamie Deetscreek and Stephanie Neff, and freshman Gael Mackie.

Tennis doubles partners leave on low note

Every female senior athlete wants to end her career on a high note. However, for the U's Elizabeth Ferris and Emily Kwok, the ideal finish was cut short. Ferris and Kwok were beat 2-1 by Auburn's Alex Haney and Melissa Koning in the first round of the NCAA Women's Tennis Championships.

Veterans are among our most important and, sometimes, most ignored citizens. The public's lack of attention to their views is condemnable. We need to empower our veterans and current troops by involving more of their words in our national dialogue. If you open any newspaper or turn on the TV, you will get third-party accounts of who the troops are, what they did, how they did it, and what it means to the troops.

$15 million donated for new natural history museum

Construction on a new Utah Museum of Natural History is set to begin this summer, thanks to a $15 million donation from Rio Tinto, the parent company of Kennecott Copper. "We are thrilled to share this exciting contribution to the continuing, long relationship with the museum and the U," said Bret Clayton, chief executive of Rio Tinto.

Recording industry threatens to sue over illegal file sharing
