Rail Jam strikes chord with crowd

By By Kirk Taylor February 22, 2008
By all measures the Cricket Campus Railjam was a success. The 20 foot-high scaffolding was striking to say the least and the music could be heard all across campus. DJ Gristified kept solid tunes spinning throughout the competition while the participants and crowd vibed on.

By By Jon Gilbert February 21, 2008
Nina Kim was right where she wanted to be. The U gymnast trained all off-season long and refocused herself to compete all-around for her team. On Feb. 1 against Minnesota, she did that brilliantly. Her breakout performance launched her to No.1 in the country in the all-around competition.

February 21, 2008
The Utah men's tennis team had a near flawless night on the court at the Eccles Tennis Center last night, winning every singles and doubles match en route to an easy 7-0 victory over Idaho State. Zach Ganger started the rally off with a defeat over the Bengals' Marc Pijoan with a 6-2, 6-4 win and the victories never stopped pouring in for the Utes.

Men’s Hoops: Cougars bring too much versatility

By By Chris Kamrani February 21, 2008
The Runnin' Utes learned the hard way on Wednesday night that when you play the BYU Cougars, you truly must pick your poison. On a night when the Ute defense was stellar as can be, the Cougars responded with two different heroes from usual. Pappas: Buttars makes Utah’s winter even colder

By By Nicholas Pappas February 21, 2008
The cold doesn't end this year. Every day I get up and imagine the torment of putting my bare feet on the tile floor in my room. I want the '70s back. I want shag carpet with a built-in heater. I want the future, too. I want a bed that rolls into the bathroom and throws me into a hot shower.

Bateman: Forget the horse race, follow the money

By By Joseph Bateman February 21, 2008
Super Tuesday came in with a fury but left with a whimper. Although the Democratic nominee remains unknown and the presumptive Republican nominee is John McCain, the horse race coverage of the money train continues unabated with little examination over how these mountains of money are affecting not only the presidential race but politics in general.
