By By Natalie Dicou November 26, 2007
While the rest of the student body braved the chilly weather, the U women's basketball team enjoyed a weekend in Hawaii. But the Utes, who played three games in three days, didn't have much time to lounge on the beach. In an extended weekend of back-to-back-to-back games, the Utes picked up wins against Akron and Nebraska, but not before narrowly falling to Marist in overtime.

By By Jason Peterson November 26, 2007
The Utah Jazz had several reasons to be thankful for Friday night's 99-71 win over the upstart New Orleans Hornets. Two of those reasons were backup point guards Jason Hart and Ronnie Price, who combined for 23 points in 35 minutes off the bench. Their energetic play sparked a 10-2 run to close a lethargic first half for both teams.

Candidate made to resign early

By By Rochelle McConkie November 26, 2007
A number of election-bound ASUU executive cabinet members will resign their posts within the next month, but one director says he was unfairly asked to leave weeks before others planning to run for office. Associated Students of the University of Utah President Spencer Pearson and Vice President Basim Motiwala asked Campus Relations Director John Bowers to step down in mid-November, although Pearson said that other directors positioning themselves to run for office wouldn't have to leave until the end of the semester.

Fire marshal keeps campus safe for 20 years

By By Jennifer Winters November 26, 2007
Michael Halligan begins every morning the same way: pushing the snooze button at 5:15 a.m., drinking a cup of coffee and getting his two children ready for elementary school during what he calls "daddy time." Halligan then heads to his other home -- the U where he has worked as fire marshal for 20 years.
