By By Lauren Mueller November 20, 2007
From the bench-clearing brawls of the late 1890s to write-ups in The Washington Post, the so-called Holy War between the University of Utah Utes and the Brigham Young University Cougars is one of the most celebrated rivalries in college sports. Of course, this isn't news to anyone -- red or blue -- but this consummate rivalry claims to be more than just wins and losses.

Warm weather pushes opening dates back

By By Jessica Dunn November 20, 2007
There is a rumor of an old man who has skied Alta Ski Area his entire life. People say he has figured out the Utah weather pattern for snow and he's almost always right. The old man believes that this pattern determines when the resorts will open. As far as this year is concerned, he's dead on.

LEAPing into college life

By By Edgar Zuniga Jr. November 20, 2007
Members of the U's LEAP program want potential U students to have a real glimpse of college life -- even if they are several years early. Students from the Learning Engagement Achievement Progress program took about 100 English as a Second Language students from Northwest Middle School on a campus tour as part of the third annual See You at the U event last Thursday.

Red Herring: Wildfire victims move to Oklahoma

By By Orion Archibald November 20, 2007
The fires which ravaged Southern and Central California last month have turned what used to be a vibrant and bustling cultural mecca into a charred wasteland, and the catastrophic effects are already beginning to make themselves felt well beyond the borders of the Golden State.
