The costume makes the man

By By Nicholas Pappas October 31, 2007
When I was young, my mother was Betsy Ross. She carried around a needle and thread like a seamstress vigilante. No rip or tatter was safe. This always helped at Halloween. If I asked to be a werewolf she could sew hairy legs onto a pair of cutoffs in minutes.

From stress to the common cold, students are likely to face a variety of health challenges throughout their time at the U. To help students to be more aware of physical and mental heath, the Student Health Advisory Committee orchestrates an annual wellness fair that is being held today from 10 a.

Alcohol and the U: Drinking before campus events rarely creates problems

October 31, 2007
Mackenzie Robinson is like many U students who attend late-night school events looking to relax and have fun on campus. Student events are supposed to be free of alcohol, but Robinson, a sophomore nursing major, often notices students who arrive drunk, she said.

Kiss off for an iPod

By By Paige Fieldsted October 31, 2007
Drool, embarrassment, ridicule and possible cramps -- that's what U students will have to go through to win an iPod. The rules are simple. Teams of two will be required to hold an iPod case between each other, using only their mouths. The last team standing wins.

By By Eric Williams October 30, 2007
Sprint to the finish, make a deathbed confession or end strong, and they'll forgive you for anything. NBA Preview: All-Star lineups they are a changin’

By By Jon Gilbert October 30, 2007
"The line it is drawn, the curse it is cast. The slow one now will later be fast, as the present now will later be past. The order is rapidly fadin'. And the first one now will later be last, for the times they are a-changin'." It's likely that Bob Dylan had other things on his mind besides the 2007-2008 NBA season when he wrote those words.

Jazzocalypse is coming

By By Steve Coons October 30, 2007
I'm routinely confronted by a feeling of anxiety when the sports teams I follow prepare for new seasons. The Utah Jazz, the team I follow most avidly, will play their home opener tomorrow night against the Houston Rockets. My dad never has hope for the new season, supposedly because so many things could go so horribly wrong.

Protect children from abuse

By By Anastasia Niedrich October 30, 2007
Utah is famous and infamous for many things, including its high number of Mormon residents, industry, friendly people, great snow and, recently, being the first state to have a defendant charged under the Adam Walsh Child Protection and Safety Act. John Henry Gill moved to Utah in 2006 and has now become the first defendant in the nation to be charged with violation of the Adam Walsh Act for failing to register as a sex offender when he moved into the state.
