Members of a student group on campus hope a piece of orange ribbon will spark conversations about political and personal issues across campus. OrangeBand is a student organization that revolves around a simple action: Students write issues that are important to them on a piece of orange cloth and display them where they are visible to create a gateway for communication about the topic.

It should come as no surprise that the U music department plays host to a great deal of talented musicians, but jazz vocalist Kelly Eisenhour possesses the skill and the supporters -- cough, Gladys Knight -- to back it up. A prolific performer who also has experience in song writing and arranging, Eisenhour has performed with the likes of Knight and alto saxophonist Bob Mintzer.

Bomb threat at business school

More than 30 police officers canvassed buildings in the David Eccles School of Business early Tuesday morning after a professor received a bomb threat in her e-mail account shortly after 5 a.m. Of the four e-mail messages, all but one appeared to be from a foreign source.

Bicyclist hit by Trax

A biker collided with a UTA TRAX train yesterday morning as the train was approaching the South Campus TRAX stop. The biker was cited for running a red light and suffered minor injuries, including lacerations and road rash, said Sgt. Don Bird of the U Police Department.
