Alternative goes mainstream

A certain "local, independent, alternative" radio station is losing its originality. Though its name will remain undisclosed, I am sure we all know which channel I am talking about. Local? Sure. Independent? Perhaps. But alternative? Not at all. Let me explain why.

Phi Delta Theta was present at the U two years ago, but had its charter revoked after a hazing complaint from a student who claimed to have been kicked in the mouth by one of his fraternity brothers.

A new U tradition is born

Utah football is not just about building traditions by winning bowl games and making progress on-field. It is also about building traditions off the field. Starting this season, the U football team will participate in the Ute Walk. Two-and-a-half hours before the kickoff of every home game, the team will be walking from the Smith Center down Guardsman Way to Rice-Eccles Stadium.

The Haka is a traditional Maori dance performed by warriors to intimidate their opponents just before engaging in battle. The dance includes a wide range of body movement, from bulging eyes to stomping feet and slapping thighs. Done in perfect unison by 100 warriors, or in this case, Bingham Miners football players, it can be a scary thing.
