Freshmen use new independence to explore faith

For some students, graduating from high school also means a graduating from their church and religious community. As they leave home to go off to college, they are given an opportunity to define themselves as adults, which includes what they believe and practice. This often means choosing a place of worship and community for their faith, if they choose to continue it.

New Humanities Building open for classes, offices

The new building opened a week late due to manufacturing problems with the glass work on the main staircase.

Magnesium lowers cerebral palsy rates in premature infants

Magnesium sulfate, a chemical often found in bath salts and used by farmers to treat soil deficiencies, was found to significantly reduce the risk of cerebral palsy in premature babies when delivered intravenously to their mothers prior to birth.

ASUU promotes student voting, convention watch parties

Starting on Oct. 21, Utah residents will able to cast their vote on the U campus for the presidential election before Election Day. A room in the Union will be reserved for early voting booths.

U receives $12 million for arts complex

The U has received a $12 million pledge from the Sorensen Legacy Foundation for the construction of a new interdisciplinary arts and public education center on campus.
