Diversity office changes name to promote equality

The U Office of Diversity announced Thursday that it has changed its name to the Office of Equity and Diversity. Octavio Villalpando, associate vice president of the office, said the new name will more accurately reflect the U's growing student and faculty diversity and ensure greater equality in all aspects of campus life.

U researchers create 3-D x-ray for hip displacement

U researchers have a new device that gives them Superman-like x-ray vision.

Instead of looking through walls, researchers will use two digital x-ray cameras, attached to special types of x-ray machines that enable them to capture motions of bones as they move in real time.

U to reopen library east entrance in October

Administrators at the library are seeking a temporary occupancy permit from the state to open the entrance, which, according to Library Facilities and Service Access manager Ian Godfrey, will open Oct. 208212;the one-year anniversary of its closure.

Counter-conventions raise question of RNC unity

The Republican National Convention hasn't included any talk of a historic roll call. Although there have been no pleads for party unity. Some delegates at the Republican National Convention are concerned that a lack of unity may be costly in November.

U Bike Collective growing, seeing more action
