It's terrible that people in Utah and the nation are not exposed to conservative ideas and voices. It's obvious to everyone not seduced by "radical liberals" that only by listening to red-blooded conservative voices as Carlston and Conrad are telling us to, we will have the great economy we are enjoying today and the Iraqi children will all be riding ponies.

Conrad believes that science is not logical and using it as a basis for argument is a problem. Let me repeat that, Conrad thinks science is not logical.

The Combat Meth Act proves electronic I.D. scanning is not an unrealistic scenario. The state of Utah should implement these same standards for all alcohol products purchased, not just for people who look under 35 entering bars. Utah needs to do everything it can to prevent youth's ability to use fake I.D. cards.

In its third year, the dance marathon continues to be a positive and enjoyable tradition. Kudos to those members of ASUU responsible for its organization and to the students who participated. It takes dedication to dance for 26.2 hours, even for a good cause. HIT

I think Ted Wilson, head of the Utah Rivers Council, summed up my thoughts when he said, "My goodness, you're going to destroy the most beautiful, natural place left on the Jordan because you don't want to build an overpass?"

What it does mean is Utah drivers need to take the hint and re-examine their mindset the next time they get behind the wheel. As clichéd as it sounds, you really might save a life8212;or at the very least a headache and a few thousand dollars in body work.

The answer is simple: a new trial should be held in which extra measures can be taken to ensure that the courtroom is not a place that mistakes stereotypes as facts, but ensures that justice keeps her eyes closed.

Should these substances now become legal, society would be put in a more risky situation because users would engage in violent and illegal activities without preventative intervention.

Now is the time to unite. We live in a time when the size of government is growing at an exponential rate, capitalism is on the brink of extinction and the traditional family is under attack on all fronts. Join us and become a part of the conservative voice that will not be silenced.

John Stafford ("University system numbs minds," March 23) needs to transfer to Westminster College or basically any other small liberal arts college and his angst will be remedied.
