The Utes will be looking to bounce back from last weekend's loss when they host the San Diego State Aztecs in the final home game of the season Saturday.

The Utah Swimming and Diving teams have been invited to one of the most prestigious swim meets in the NCAA, as they make the trip this weekend to Long Beach, Calif. for the Toshiba Classic, formerly known as the Nike Cup.

After a heartbreaking 30-27 loss to Wyoming that shattered San Diego State's bowl hopes last weekend, the Aztecs are moving on and concentrating their efforts and thoughts on Utah.

Fresh off a thrilling 68-67 win over in-state rival Utah State Wednesday night, the Runnin' Utes will play their first game in the Las Vegas Invitational Tournament against the Southern University Jaguars Saturday at 7 p.m. in the Huntsman Center.

As five seniors prepare for their last season at Utah, the program has signed six new gymnasts to fill their places on the roster in 2011.

When the 2009 campaign officially ends, the Utah volleyball team will bid adieu to seniors middle blocker Chelsey Sandberg and outside hitter Cinthia Silva. However, the Utes will also be welcoming new additions to the program, as they have signed four players for the 2010 season.

Coming off their first loss to Utah State in their opening game of the 2009 preseason, the Utes moved to 1-1 Tuesday at home with a scrappy 60-59 victory over Minnesota.

The Mountain West Conference football championship trophy is now clad in purple and destined for Fort Worth.

Saturday's game against No. 4 TCU turned out to be what some on the team are calling "a wake-up call" after the Utes fell to the Horned Frogs 55-28. TCU's 55 points were the most points scored by a Utah opponent since 1990, when the San Diego State Aztecs dropped 66 on the Utes.
