Just two days removed from tallying 17 kills in a four-set win against Missouri, the sophomore outside hitter upped her career high to 21 kills to lift the Utes to a five-set victory over Utah State in Logan on Tuesday night.

Utes' defense shines in second half

Defense was expected to be the strength of this year's Utes, but after the first half of Thursday's game between Utah and Utah State, that did not seem to be the case. The Utah offense didn't look like a team with a new starting quarterback and a first time offensive coordinator, but the defense struggled.

The No. 21 women's soccer team (4-2) lost its second straight game at home, falling 3-1 to the college of William and Mary (3-1) on Sunday afternoon.

The Utes kick off their fall schedule a week from today when they travel to Albuquerque, N.M., to take part in the William H. Tucker Intercollegiate Tournament, hosted by the University of New Mexico. The tournament will be held at the Championship Golf Course at UNM, a course that from the tips plays 7,324 yards long.

If you hear laughter coming from Crimson Court, chances are, Chelsey Sandberg is the cause. She describes herself as a laid-back person who definitely has a goofy side, and her teammates say she is one of the funniest people they know.

Students have been able to still sign up for MUSS tickets at this time in past years. But this year, the MUSS capacity of 5,000 maxed out before school even began.
