Utes fall to Waves before starting conference play

The women's soccer team (5-6-1) lost for the fourth time in five games as it fell to Pepperdine University (6-3) on Sunday afternoon 1-0 at Ute Field.

Utes Fall to Aggies

Utah's women's soccer team (5-5-1) faced in-state rival Utah State (5-4-1) Thursday night under the lights of Real Salt Lake's Rio Tinto Stadium. Kicking-off, the Utes maintained possession for the majority of the first twenty minutes of the game. However, what began as domination for the Utes soon gave way to deadlock, and eventually, defeat. The Utes fell to the Aggies 2-1 in golden goal overtime.

Utah to face rival USU at Rio Tinto

The Utah women's soccer team will look to wrap up nonconference play this week, starting with a match against in-state rival Utah State. The Utes and Aggies will play the first neutral-site match in the rivalry's history tonight when they meet at Real Salt Lake's Rio Tinto Stadium. In its first year of operation, the 20,000-seat stadium has hosted not only the home matches of Real Salt Lake, but also the 2009 MLS All-Star Game and a United States World Cup Qualifier.

The women's soccer team (5-3) is in Los Angeles this weekend to take part in the four-team UCLA Women's Cup. The Utes will first face off against the host team and No. 4-ranked Bruins (4-1-1) Friday night at 7 p.m. This will be the second meeting between the two teams, with the Utes getting a 2-1 upset victory over then-No.7 UCLA in 2004.
