Mongolian ambassador tackles poor education in BYU speech

PROVO?The Mongolian ambassador to the United Nations told Brigham Young University students Wednesday the United States needs to recognize the problems of small countries. "There are 113 million children in the world without school," said Ambassador Jargalsaikhainy Enkhsaikhan.

BYU freshmen skip dorm life, head off campus

PROVO?Despite the amenities of living on campus, which are enough to entice most freshmen, about 2,000 at Brigham Young University skip life in the dorms and head straight to off-campus housing. While most freshmen have the convenience of three meals prepared for them on a daily basis, free high-speed Internet connection and a less than five-minute walk to campus, those freshmen living off-campus go without such benefits.

Police Report: Two Parkers Arrest Each Other

Two women started arguing in a parking terrace near University Hospital. Woman A claimed woman B acted aggressively and used abusive language for no apparent reason. Woman B said woman A had opened her car door into woman B's car and when woman B took steps to prevent it from happening again, woman A became irate.

UEC Changes Deadline

The Olympic break has affected many campus organizations' schedules?including the Utah Entrepreneur Challenge's. Challenge officials moved the deadline for executive summaries, originally set for Jan. 18 to Jan. 30 at 5 p.m. Business professors at Brigham Young University had the most sway in the change.
