BYU fans appreciate Utes

Editor:

I was born and raised in Provo and am a dyed-in-the-wool, true-blue, through-and-through Cougar. I would like to write and congratulate the Utes and Coach “Whit” for an outstanding and most amazing season and congratulate your team on its bowl game victory over the ‘Bama Crimson Tide. This is now two times in the past five years you have shown the “Big Boys” from the BCS that teams from the so-called mid-major conferences can play football and deserve to be in the BCS. This year, the U and BYU have proven that our conference is every bit as good as the PAC-10 and can compete on a national level (even though BYU lost to Arizona). This whole BCS system is a farce. How can it justify having teams with two losses ranked in the lower half of the top 25 playing in a BCS bowl when teams ranked in the top 10 or 12 are left outside looking in? Let’s hope that the top teams in the MWC have another great year. Congrats again, and as a Cougar fan, I sincerely hope that your Utes only have one loss next year.

Rick Schwartz,
Lehi
