Student removed for mental check-up

Police took a student living in Chapel Glen Building 803 to the U Medical Center for mental evaluation. According to the U Police Department, the student thought someone had planted a surveillance camera in his bathroom and swore to harm whoever was responsible.

Under the influence

Police pulled over a car of minors Sunday afternoon. The officer could smell alcohol on the driver, who had been speeding down Sunnyside Avenue. The minors had been drinking and getting high on the 25 grams of marijuana found in a backpack of theirs, according to a police report. The minors were arrested and charged with drinking and driving and illegal drug use.

Students found with marijuana

While investigating a minor car accident on North Campus Drive, an officer heard a rustle in some nearby trees. He found two boys, ages 15 and 17, stuffing marijuana and a bong into a backpack. The boys were released to their parents.

Stolen running shoes

An employee of the University Campus Store’s mail center left a pair of black and white adidas shoes at work Thursday night. When he returned Friday morning, the shoes were gone. The fact that they were running shoes might have expedited their theft, police said.
