Student arrested for 4 sexual assaults

By Michael McFall , Staff Writer

A student was arrested for four counts of sexual assault Thursday afternoon.

Faisal Aldawsari, an 18-year-old business student, was leaving the Madsen Health Center for minor health issues around 11:15 a.m. when he groped the two female nurses escorting him, according to the U Police Department. He is accused of groping the breasts of one 21-year-old nurse and the butt of a 30-year-old nurse before running away. It’s not the everyday crime at the U, so U Police responded in full force.

Two hours and two more sexual assaults later, he was in handcuffs, police said.

“We put in all of our resources into finding him, and we’re happy to have him so soon,” said U Police Chief Scott Folsom. It wasn’t hard to identify Aldawsari8212;he’d just left a medical center, whose anatomy-educated personnel had a solid description of his 110-pound, about 5-foot-5-inch frame, Folsom said. He was also described as wearing a bright orange shirt and shoes.

About 20 minutes later, U Police reported that Aldawsari grabbed the arm of a third woman, 20 years old, at the West Institute Building.

“He said something to the effect of “you need to come with me,’ ” Folsom said. But the woman successfully pulled out of his grip and got away.

He also sexually assaulted a fourth woman, also 20 years old, near the HPER complex, U Police said.

By about 1:30 p.m., two plainclothes officers had him in custody near the Behavioral and Social Science building.

Each of the four counts of sexual assault is a class A misdemeanor, which carries a sentence of up to one year in jail.
