The Holy War, By The Numbers

The+Holy+War%2C+By+The+Numbers

Utah’s all-time record against BYU is 55-31-4.

BYU’s all-time winning percentage against Utah is .344, which is pretty close to the winning percentage of the Cleveland Browns over the past 10 years.

The all-time point differential is +436 for Utah. In other words, BYU would need to beat Utah 48-0 for 10 straight years in order to make a comeback.

all time score

However, the differential continues to grow in Utah’s favor. Four-year players who graduated from Utah last year outscored BYU 133-72 over those four years. If that were a basketball game, Utah would be criticized for running up the score.

There are currently 30 players from the U on NFL rosters. BYU has 13.

On the other hand, Utah has beat BYU by a touchdown or more, five of the past 10 years.

In 2007, BYU’s recruiting class was ranked 18 spots higher than Utah’s. Since Utah joined the Pac-12, Utah’s recruiting class has been an average of 23 spots higher.

There have been 14 quarters of football since Utah last turned the ball over against BYU.

The last time they played, Utah scored more points in one quarter than BYU scored in the entire game, which, if my math is correct, proves that Utah is four times better than BYU.
