Men’s Tennis Set to Play UNM, Air Force

The preseason is over. The past record means pretty much nothing. Play for the U men's tennis team now begins. The team takes its 11-7 record to Albuquerque to take on both New Mexico and Air Force this weekend. The Utes bring in a three-game winning streak.

Utes Fall to Ranked Pacific

The drought continues for the U softball team. The Utes lost to No. 18 Pacific 10-1 at Ute Field Thursday, extending the streak to 26 straight losses against ranked teams. The loss gives the Utes a 13-29 record, and the Tigers improve to 25-12. After a scoreless first inning, the two teams each scored one run in the second inning.

track Team Travels to BYU Invitational for Meet Saturday

After a good start to the season, the U track & field outdoor team will head south to Provo to compete in the BYU Invitational, starting Saturday. However, the talent pool will be diluted, as many of the runners that would compete in the tournament for the Cougars are heading to Texas or Stanford for more elite races.

School Curriculum Likely to Change

PROVO?The state Board of Education is considering revisions in the core curriculum that would require high school students spend more time in social studies courses. Carolee Coleman, state social studies specialist, said the revisions also would make the curriculum more specific.
