Change is essential to improve the quality of our education and our university as a whole. The initiatives we have crafted work to enhance the education one receives at the U, both in and outside of the classroom. This is our chance as students to be the voice and change-agents in supporting the Sustainable Campus Initiative as it will benefit our economy and our university community and decrease our environmental footprint.

The SCI is a worthwhile investment that can produce great rewards, if we all support it. Please take the time to read over the proposal, fully grasp what this initiative is capable of and ignore the propaganda.

We support efforts toward sustainability, but we feel that students deserve the opportunity to decide whether or not they want their fees increased and to know exactly where that money will go.

So there you have it. If you're burned-out, or think you're burned-out, take this weekend off and get some R&R. Invite some friends over for a barbecue or go up to the mountains and enjoy a few final ski runs before spring melts the snow away for good.

In the absence of any public details, all we can know about this fee increase is that it could limit the independence of student media and waste student fees during an economic recession. The Trustees should vote the fee increase down and insist the process be done in the correct order.

I have informed myself about all the parties and I can honestly say that the GO Party has listened to my individual needs. I hope that my peers who were offended by the audio clip can give the GO Party the opportunity to apologize for the incident and learn how they want to fix this problem.

Although the concept of harnessing natural energy is logical and is becoming more affordable with government support, time will tell whether it will truly be a sustainable industry and energy solution. It just might be what Utah needs.

In response to the attacks directed at the GO Party, I could see how some people would be offended by the ad run by the party. As a minority student, I hope that my peers would get past their biases and give the opportunity for the GO Party leaders to apologize.

We as the GO Party leaders appreciate the opportunity to address some of the events that have transpired over the past two days, particularly with regard to the article that was published in yesterday's edition of The Daily Utah Chronicle.

This situation is an opportunity to look at more flexible ways to accommodate the students who want to move forward in their studies. This includes accommodations that will allow students to take independent study and find other ways to adapt to the environment of economic downturn.
