Members of the U community should urge their legislators to vote for SJR14. Likewise, if the resolution makes it onto the ballot, they should vote for the proposed amendment themselves.

I've been disappointed in U students and fans for seven years. Since this is my last semester here, I wanted to voice my frustrations as well as thank the most unsung athletic program here. House Bill 208 will create such an obstacle by requiring undocumented students to sign an additional affidavit each semester promising that they haven't worked in the United States during the calendar year.

My office at the U awards private scholarships available to all students, including those of undocumented status who fall under HB 144. I need to express my objections toward SB 81 and HB 208.

Ideological barriers and agendas stymie our country's ability to reach goals that share wide consensus. Burning political capital on dead-end issues does not help America move forward. In considering the wide array of viewpoints in this country, seeking and acting upon the issues that are universal creates the opportunity to encourage compromise on the sharper issues.

Whatever happened to the sanctity of our sexuality? It has been misused and abused since Adam and Eve. It was meant for us to show true love to our spouse inside the bond of marriage and as a way to make babies and perpetuate the human race.

My initial response to this article was neither anger nor resentment toward our candidates. Rather, it was disappointing to see each of them succumb to media pressures and fall into stereotypical political roles. As our vocabulary increases during college, let's be sure to use it to better communication, not our perceived intelligence. It's no easier to understand people who are trying to patch up a pointless statement with haughty wordiness than it is to understand people who are speaking with their mouth full of marshmallows.
