It was another shaky weekend for the Utah golf team, which tied for 14th place at the Herb Wimberly Intercollegiate in Las Cruces, N.M.

Golf is a sport that requires natural athletic ability, patience and a good attitude. The Utes' lone senior golfer, Chance Cota, has all three.

Things looked as if they were turning around for the Ute golf team a week ago, when it finished in the top 10 for the first time this year. But last weekend, they turned in their worst performance of the season.

The Ute golf team is coming off its best week of the season as it heads to compete in the Wyoming Desert Classic.

The Utah golf team didn't play up to its usual standards last week, but made a better showing than in previous tournaments this season. They cracked the top ten for the first time this season and are showing signs of life.

After two solid rounds the first day at the Ron Moore Invitational in Denver, the Utes slipped and finished in a tie for 13th.

The Utes showed lack of experience in their first tournament of the year by finishing in 14th place at the Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational.

Chris Gresh found so much success at Utah, that he's decided to stay despite finishing his four years.

The Utes will tee off their season during the first month of the Fall Semester, on Sept. 6. They will be traveling to Colorado Springs, Colo., for the Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational. The highlight of the schedule will be the University of Hawaii Kauai Invitational in November.
