Guaranteed to make your body Calendar

November 23, 2004
Nov. 23 Tuesday Calendar is sick and tired of people not giving the respect that is deserved of Tuesday. Honestly, it is by far the most overlooked day. Consider the following: Monday (aka The Worst Day Ever), Wednesday (aka Hump Day), Thursday (aka The Red-headed Stepday), Friday (aka God's attempt to make up for Monday), Saturday and Sunday (aka The Weekend).

Wake up, it’s not 1984

November 18, 2004
How sweet it is. Those of us who have been Utah football fans since the dark days (read: pre-McBride era) are relishing just a bit more in the Utes' remarkable season. As a child, I was an unlucky acquaintance of a ton of annoying, die-hard BYU fans. Keep in mind this was during the '80s, a dark decade for the world, particularly for Ute fans, seeing as they were a pathetic 1-9 against the Cougars during those years.

The great rivalry comes full circle

By By Andrew Canon November 18, 2004
Once upon a time, baseball was considered the national pastime. Summer and fall afternoons meant hot dogs, keeping score on a bleacher seat and watching a pitcher trying to outsmart a batter. Gay community copes with No. 3

November 17, 2004
Legislation and civil disobedience are two ways in which members of the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender community are coping with the passing of Amendment 3, a discussion group concluded on Tuesday. Although there was some disagreement regarding which method was better, some participants stressed the need to incorporate both aggressive and behind-the-scenes tactics.

The Chronicle’s View: Student representatives need to take their jobs seriously

April 12, 2004
The state Legislature did not give much support to the U in its recently concluded session. From ignoring bills providing funding for the fatally flawed Marriott Library to not allowing for adequate enrollment growth, the Legislature has not been a big U supporter.

Letter to the Editor: Take action to prevent rape

April 12, 2004
Editor: I wanted to comment on the article in the April 8 issue of The Daily Utah Chronicle ("Forum looks at lack of reported U rapes") about the rape awareness forum that was held on April 7. The article stated that "Not many people reported being raped last year on campus, according to U police, and not many people attended Wednesday's rape awareness forum, either.

Skiers finish second at NCAAs

March 22, 2004
The U ski team failed in its attempt to win back-to-back championships at the NCAAs last week, but came close with a second-place finish, which left coach Kevin Sweeney content. "We are very ecstatic about finishing second," Sweeney said. "With everything that has happened to us over the season, we should have finished fourth or fifth, but we have continued to battle all season," he said.
