The Associated Students of the University of Utah Student Senate meets tonight at 7 p.m. to discuss the logistics of a bill that would grant the U Writing Center an extra $10,000, in addition to the more than $10,000 they've already been awarded by ASUU.

Letter to the Editor: Universities are upholding a poor legacy

By and August 20, 2003
Editor: I could not agree more with the statements made by Jim Bergstedt in the Aug. 8 edition of The Daily Utah Chronicle. Using race as a factor in school admissions is an outdated and racist policy. However, it is troubling to me that affirmative action has gained so much attention while other poor university admissions policies are overlooked.

The Chronicle’s View: Legislature needs to commit to higher education

August 20, 2003
Much has been said about the budget problems facing the U. Returning students, no doubt, have noticed the increase in tuition.
