Unfortunately for Jazz fans, this won't be their year. Boozer and D-Will aren't Karl Malone and John Stockton, D-Will is no "CP3." This is still Utah and we're still talking about the same old Jazz.

It seems the Mountain West Conference wants to extend the idea of rivalries beyond team vs. team and make it more about conference vs. conference.

The pieces are in place, Jazz fans. Not since John Stockton and Karl Malone has Utah had a team this talented and this ready to take the league by storm.

It was another shaky weekend for the Utah golf team, which tied for 14th place at the Herb Wimberly Intercollegiate in Las Cruces, N.M.

After losing to the No. 7 Oregon Ducks in Eugene, Ore., on Monday night and ending its eight-game win streak, the Utah team is much more aware of its weaknesses than before.

The recurring themes of turnovers and penalties that hampered the Utes have started to slowly, but surely, fade away into oblivion and respectability.

After eight straight wins, the Utes fell to No. 7 Oregon in the team's first loss in more than a month. The Utes' last loss came against Wyoming on Sept. 20.

It certainly seems longer than four years ago when the Utah was ranked this high, but entering its 10th week of the 2008 college football season, Utah is the No. 10 team in the nation.

The Utes stormed in and out of Colorado Springs, Colo., as they beat the Air Force Falcons on Saturday for their eighth straight win.

After lighting up the scoreboard Friday night, Utah needed every last minute to get by Wyoming on Sunday afternoon at Ute Field.
