The Utes' four-game unbeaten streak came to an end Friday night when head coach Rich Manning and his squad were blanked by Washington 3-0.

The Utes leave this weekend for their final tune-up before opening conference play next weekend at home.

Utah's defense continued to shine this weekend, allowing only one goal in the team's past four games. That one goal came early Sunday afternoon in the eighth minute of Utah's matchup with California State Fullerton.

MWC Defensive Player of the Week Emalee Rogers and the Utah defense will put their shutout streak on the line this weekend in back-to-back home games at Ute Field.

Friday night the Utes ended their four game losing streak in front of a record-breaking crowd at Ute field. They followed that up Sunday with a trip to Los Angles to face Loyola Marymount University, where the team had to endure its fourth overtime game of the year, and eventually had to settle for a 0-0 deadlock. The weekend was capped off Monday when Ute Rogers was named MWC Defensive player of the week.

Utah has had considerable success against the Aggies in the past, winning 10 of the 11 matchups between the two schools. That success continued this weekend with a 2-0 win at Ute field.

The Utes are coming off a two-game road trip, where their current losing streak was extended to four games after they dropped two close games to Oregon and Oregon State.

Once again, Utah came out on the wrong side of a nail-biter Sunday against Oregon State. After a full 90 minutes of scoreless soccer, extra time was needed to decide a winner in Corvallis, Ore., and it was the Beavers who netted the winning goal just seven minutes into the first overtime period.

The Utah women's soccer team will look to turn this young season around as it travels to the northwest for a weekend in Oregon.
