UNLV was able to upset the Utes 68-55, thanks in large part to its defense holding Utah below 33 percent shooting from the floor.

Five Rebel players scored in double figures and the UNLV women's basketball team used a 15-0 run late in the second half to catapult them to a major upset over Utah, 68-55.

Morgan Warburton and Kalee Whipple have both won Mountain West Conference Player of the Week awards this month and the two have combined for 91 points in the team's past two games.

With only four games left in conference play, the two freshmen point guards have helped Utah lead the Mountain West in assists per game at 15.5.

Utah's two star players, Warburton and Whipple, were on point as usual and the two managed to outscore the entire Ram team 51-45. Utah's wing duo has been putting up gaudy numbers recently8212;Whipple and Warburton average 22 points and 20 points respectively during the past five games.

Now that the Utes are back on the winning track, they will look to stay on the same path for the remainder of the season. Next up on the U women's basketball team's schedule is Colorado State, which is 8-16 overall and 3-8 in the Mountain West Conference.

The Utes were able to get away with that against Wyoming, but if they want to be successful Wednesday night against the 16-5 San Diego State Aztecs, they'll need to be on their A game.

Junior forward Kalee Whipple received the Mountain West Player of the Week Honors after her two stellar performances against TCU and Wyoming this past week. Whipple was a huge reason the Utes were successful in their two come-from-behind wins.

Another strong second-half effort extended the Utes' winning streak to 12 games in a row Sunday afternoon, as Utah beat visiting Wyoming 64-57.

The women's basketball team's second-half adjustments were enough to propel the Utes to their 11th straight victory Wednesday night. Kalee Whipple led Utah with 21 points and 11 rebounds, and the Utes held TCU to 31 percent shooting in the second half as they defeated the Horned Frogs 73-63 in the Hunstman Center.
